Ahh..! , he sighed. The flight was late again and now he had to wait there for another 3 hours.
How badly he wanted to go home and those 3 hours was the longest wait for him. He got up and proceeded towards the coffee shop since caffeine was the only way to kill time.
After getting one, he went to the waiting room and took a seat nearby his luggage. As soon as he sat, he heard someone sobbing. He looked around and found a lady sitting a few seats beside him crying irresistibly and uncontrollably. Initially he thought it to be a personal matter and decided not to rattle her cage. As time passed by and she didn’t stop, he sought that it would be somewhat rude to just sit and do nothing about it. He ambulated towards her and asked “ummm.. Hey, can I help you..?”
With red swollen eyes she looked up in anguish. An uncomfortable pause was followed by the lady sobbing much louder, humming “no one can help me- ever..!”
He sat beside and with a much empathetic look he tried comforting her saying “I might not be able to solve your problem or extirpate your pain, but can definitely help you make feel better.!”
She started crying again hysterically, and After a while she stopped. He offered her water which she quietly gulped while wiping her tears.
“I’ve lost everything..!”, she started. He gave her a keen sympathetic look, she continued with a broken voice, ” I… I came to this city a few years back, in a hope of a bright future. i had all hopes and aspirations like any person. With much struggle and hard work I achieved my dream job.” He again nodded. “In all this i never had the support of my parents. I went against them only to follow my dreams. I married the man of my dreams. The love of my life… The only person in my life. … .. .” tears made their way from her heart through her soul and dropped from her ever so Serene and drained eyes. She continued.. “Everything was going fine… But suddenly he started behaving peculiarly.. Coming home late, being irascible and vexed. Initially I thought it is work load and he’ll be fine.. But things got worst and one fine day he went to the office and never came back. I.. I was panicked.. I Waited and waited.. He never came back. I contacted his office and was bewildered to know that he had resigned from the office a month ago. I tried to contact every possible person but no one could help me. A few days later I received an envelope. There was a small note for me which said “i love you always. Go back to India.” My hands trembled… Along with it there was a copy of his bank statements as he had transferred all his savings to my account and a flight ticket back to India.”.. “Till date I don’t know why he left.” There was silence.. May be she lost the strength to mourn, to youl at her loss. I was trying to absorb the upheaval of emotions and finally asked,.”So that means you are still legally married and so you can contact the force to find him.” She closed her eyes and said, “Do you think I wouldn’t have tried it..? I tried all possible means and still could neither find him nor fathom the reason for his disappearance. Sam loved me. I loved him.. How can he leave without even letting me know the reason..!!” Sam…. The name ringed a bell in his mind. He said. “If you don’t mind can I ask the full name of your husband?”, she looked up, gave an inquisitive glance and replied. “Sameer kapoor.” He further asked, “Can I know his age?” She replied “32”, “Are you Sona?” ,. For a second she turned into an idol, Sona.. That was the name only her husband used to address, her full name was sonakshi. She asked. “How… How do you know.. ?” He sighed, “well I didn’t introduce myself, so My name is dr. Raj verma and I’m an oncologist. A few months ago a man came into my office with his reports. He was pretty cheerful and sanguine but unfortunately his condition wasn’t..! I told him to start with the treatment as soon as possible and call his immediate relatives. He said he had none. Looking at his condition survival had bleak chances. Since he was the only patient from same nationality and moreover an all together different person so full of life, I developed a special rapport with him. And his name was ‘sameer kapoor’ ” She looked at him as if she’d seen a ghost and replied, “what.. There can be many by the same name, how can you be so sure? No.. It’s not possible”,. I showed him his death certificate and a photograph attached to the files. ” he died one week ago. And requested me to pass on all the necessary documents to his mother back in India. He used to tell me how much he loved you and didn’t want you to go through the pain he was enduring. He gave me a letter and his wedding ring to give you as soon as I reach India..!” She was stunned, as if drained out of life and blood, she turned pale. She cried again and all he could do was sit and stare. The words were perhaps not enough to console her. He gave her the letter and the ring. She was still crying. All he could say was. “May his soul lie in peace..!!”

      1. yes. i meant it. narration was good. but don’t be hard on yourself, (and too nice on me :P) because you are venturing into story writing recently, and i’m doing it for around ten months or so. In this time you’ll write way way better than me. 🙂

just be in the habit of reading a bit, you will start getting ideas about writing 🙂

you’ve started so well. my initial posts were nowhere near to what you write… And also I’m not that good in the first place -you should benchmark better writers, but I would love to help you in any way possible. 🙂

  1. I am glad I ventured deeper into your blog. You seem to be writing on the same lines like me. Telling pain through words. You are really good. Although try breaking these into parts so that it becomes easy for reader to read and doesn’t feel like a chore.

  2. A funny thing you know. I wrote a poem on almost the same topic called “Strangers with a connection”. By the way, it wasn’t as elaborate and touchy as this one. Good work! You’re so good at writing such emotional pieces.
    God bless! 🙂
